MODALITIES

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage uses firm pressure and slow strokes to massage deep layers of muscle and fascia. Deep tissue massages are used to release built-up muscle tension, break up muscle and fascial adhesions and provide you with a deep sense of relief from aches and pains. Be sure to breath deep during the session to provide optimal muscle and tension relief.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is specifically tailored to different sports and sporting injuries. It is not a relaxing form of massage and can often be quite strenuous. It works by stretching tight muscles, stimulating inactive muscles and improving the condition of the soft tissue. The aim of sports massage is to reduce the stress and tension that can build up in the soft tissues of the body during exercise. This form of massage is used to: increase endurance, improve performance, reduce the chance of injury, reduce recovery time after an injury. During a sports massage session the client remains clothed in athletic wear, shorts, tank top and/or sports bra.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a massage treatment that attempts to release tension in the fascia due to trauma, posture, or repetitive motions. Connective tissues called fascia surround the muscles, bones, nerves, and organs of the body. Areas of restriction in the fascia can place a great deal of pressure on nerves and muscles causing chronic pain. Myofascial release sessions employ long stretching strokes meant to create more space and balance tissue and muscle mechanics and improve joint range of motion in order to relieve pain.

Relaxation

Relaxation massage is a smooth, gentle, flowing style that promotes general relaxation, relieves muscular tension, and improves circulation and movement range. Relaxation massages are provided at a depth that does not cause discomfort. Relaxation massages can be helpful at reducing stress, calming the mind, lowering blood pressure and just giving you the time and space to let go and feel whole and relaxed.

Triggerpoint NeuroMuscular

Trigger Point Therapy is also known as Neuromuscular Massage. Trigger points are sore, painful spots—sometimes thought of as “knots”—found in muscles. These knots are sensitive and when pressure is applied, it can produce pain directly or refer pain to a different part of your body. A trigger point massage helps work out those “knots” and reduce the pain associated with them. The objective of trigger point therapy is releasing or softening a muscle knot to reduce (or eliminate) the local and associated pain. This release happens by applying various levels of pressure to the trigger point for extended periods of time and then stretching the affected areas through a complete range of motion.

Prenatal

A prenatal massage is a full body massage with a few modifications with body positioning that can ensure the safety and comfort for both mother and baby. Our prenatal massage trained therapist work with the mother to be in relieving pregnancy related aches and pains. A thorough intake and discussion of areas to avoid and any risks will take place prior to session.
